Perforated vs. Frosted vs. Opaque Window Vinyl
Which window film is right for your storefront — one-way vision, privacy etch, or full-color opaque.
Window vinyl isn't one product — the right film depends on whether you need to see out, want privacy, or are going for maximum brand impact. Here's how the three main options compare.
Perforated (one-way vision)
Perforated film is full of tiny holes, so from outside it shows your full-color graphic, but from inside you can still see out and let light in. It's the go-to for storefronts and gyms that want big branding without boxing themselves in.
Frosted / etched-look
Frosted vinyl mimics sandblasted glass — it's mostly used for privacy (conference rooms, lower windows, bathrooms) and clean, upscale logos or patterns, while still passing light.
Opaque full-color
Solid opaque vinyl is maximum impact and full coverage — perfect for promotions, grand openings and brand takeovers where you want the whole window working as a billboard. We did exactly this kind of window work for MAC Cosmetics and Sunglass Hut.

Frequently asked
What's the difference between perforated and frosted window vinyl?
Perforated film shows a full-color graphic outside while letting you see out from inside (one-way vision); frosted film mimics etched glass and is mainly for privacy and subtle logos. Opaque film is full coverage for maximum impact.
Can I still see out with window graphics?
Yes, if you use perforated one-way-vision film — it brands the glass on the outside while keeping visibility and light from the inside.
